The Estradas were formed in 1994 by Bob McCluskey after his previous band, the
Taoist Cowboys, broke up. The Estradas featured Bob on lead vocals and rhythm guitar and Michael
Ponch Goldman on lead guitar and background vocals as the principle main
stays.
After a few years on the local scene Bob moved from Knoxville and got out of playing
altogether for a while. Ponch also moved but continued to be involved in other bands in
his new hometown of Atlanta, GA. Currently he is the lead singer and songwriter for the
Indicators.
In the summer of 2000 Bob and Ponch decided to get together and record some of the best
songs from the Estradas era. Along with bass player, Paxton Sellers, and drummer, Jason Peters, they entered Stealth studio with Todd Steed at the
controls. Last Summers Folding Chair is the result of these sessions.
Last Summer is free to download, the songs and the artwork.
