"Heartbreak and Duct Tape" is the title and the CD is a barnstormer of a follow-up to his previous release, "Knoxville Tells".  While "Knoxville Tells" was Knoxville-driven and East Tennessee-focused, the new CD has no boundaries, geographic, musical or otherwise.

"Throughout, Steed is a better singer, a better musician and a more honest songwriter than he's ever been. "Heartbreak and Duct Tape" is world-class music from one of Knoxville's best artists."

Knoxville Tells

about this here CD

Knoxville Tells is the result of a six-month project by Knoxville songwriter/performer Todd Steed, a.k.a Todzilla, and just about anybody else he could pull off the street. The idea was to write songs about things, people, and places stumbled upon in East Tennessee and then cajole all the local talent possible over to apeville and put it down on tape.  Including the stumbling, that's pretty much what happened.

The songs range from sweet to cynical, local to regional, depressing to uplifting, clear to confusing. Ultimately it's about hometowns, the people who get stuck in them, and how we all deal with them/love them/hate them.

Over a dozen musicians play a part on Knoxville Tells.

Former V-Roys: Scott Miller, Jeff Bills, Paxton Sellers and Mic Harrison all added to songs, with both Bills and Miller being heavily featured throughout. Longtime local man-poet and musician RB Morris adds his unique twist to several tunes and co-wrote pieces for the record. Tim Lee, formerly of the southern pop champions, the Windbreakers turns in some fine guitar work. Kat Brock of Dixie Dirt, John Baker and Jim Rivers of the French Broads, Ed Richardson of Apelife, Dave Nichols of Smokin' Dave and the Premo Dopes, and many others fill out the music.  It got pretty crowded.

"Everybody's got a hometown they were once, or still may be, stuck in. This record is for them.
Probably." said Todd.
